THE LARGEST EUROPEAN COLLEGE FOR OSTEOPATHIC EDUCATION
ICOM receives accreditation from the NCFHE, the Maltese Education Ministry, as Higher Education Institution (License No. 201/2013) thus becoming the second reality in Europe recognized as a Higher Education Institute in Osteopathy allowing it to confer recognized Academic Titles (Awarding Power), as Bsc.Ost Hons Osteopathy, Degree in Osteopathy that can be spent in all European countries where Osteopathy is recognized including Italy.

ICOM IN EUROPE
Following the identification of Osteopathy as a Health Profession, which occurred with Law 3/2018 (download the Official Journal), and pending the implementation decrees that will determine the Italian University path in Osteopathy with the relative release of the Qualifying Degree as a single title valid for the exercise of the Profession, the Italian training landscape will change definitively.
What will be the reasons?
Training in Italy will be competence of University of Medicine and Surgery.
Italian private schools in Osteopathy will no longer be able to provide training in the National territory.
The title D.O (Diploma in Osteopathy) in Osteopathy will no longer be releasable and valid. Those who currently do so will necessarily have to retrain to obtain the degree in Osteopathy in order to enroll in the Register and exercise the profession.

WHY MALTA?
ICOM has worked since its inception with British Universities (Surrey and Kingston), releasing its university degrees to its students.
Following the Brexit Referendum (23 June 2016) ICOM started its accreditation process as H.E.I. (Institute of Higher Education in Osteopathy) on the territory of Malta, which is remembered to be the second Nation to have recognized the Osteopathy already in 1994 through the transposition of the Osteopathic Act.
This will allow ICOM to continue to provide training in Osteopathic, on the same Maltese territory, releasing at the end of the route the title of Bsc.Ost Hons. with 240 university credits, which can be spent in all European countries where osteopathy is recognized, including Italy.
